Western Local Land Services is calling on the community to step forward and help make a difference by applying to join its local board.
Positions on all 11 regional Local Land Services boards will become available when the terms of 29 current board members and chairs end in March and April next year, with Western Local Land Services looking to fill three vacancies (two members and the chair).
Local boards are comprised of a mix of Ministerially-appointed and elected board members who bring a wealth of skills, experience and commitment to the organisation.
Together they focus on the strategic direction of the organisation, promoting the services offered, encouraging partnerships and building strong relationships with investors.
Acting-Chair of the Western Local Land Services Board, Magnus Aitken, is encouraging anyone who believes they have something to offer to put their name forward for this opportunity.
“Our board members understand local needs and are the voice of the communities and landholders they represent. They play a key role in identifying and delivering services that are relevant to the regions they serve,” Mr Aitken said.
“Having people with varying backgrounds and experiences introduces new ideas and skill sets which is important when you’re providing strategic direction and looking for improvements in service delivery.
“We are experiencing challenge and hardship across the region and more broadly, the state and now, more than ever, we need board members committed to working on behalf of our stakeholders to deliver for their region.”
