Deadline extended for landholders and community groups to apply for $5,000 in funding

Landholders and community members now have until 5 pm Friday, 11 May to submit their application for funding through the Western Region Small Land Management Grants.

The announcement comes following the launch of the Ag Innovation and Technology Small Grant, for which applications are also due by Friday, 11 May.

To avoid any confusion, Western Local Land Services has extended the due date for the Western Region Small Land Management Grants from 30 April to 11 May.

The Western Region Small Land Management Grant is targeted towards providing assistance to individuals and groups who are planning to increase knowledge, skills or raise awareness of issues relating to the environment, sustainable agriculture or natural resource management (NRM) in the Western region.

Grants of up to $5,000 are available for:

  • Training activities – related to achieving positive on-ground changes in land management.
  • Education activities – aimed at raising awareness of land management issues in the community.
  • Community activities – to support activities or events with an NRM, sustainable agriculture or environmental theme.

Landholders should visit the Grants and Funding tab for application forms and program guidelines. Application forms and guidelines for the Ag Innovation and Technology Small Grant are also available by accessing this link.

This program supports landholders to purchase innovative technology, equipment or services to assist them to adopt sustainable practice change. Landholder interest in this program has already been strong, so potential applicants are encouraged to submit their applications as soon as possible.

For further information on either grant, contact Senior Land Services Officer, Kyra Roach on 0438 695 755.

Both small grants are supported by Western Local Land Services through funding by the Australian Government’s National Landcare Program and Catchment Action NSW.
