Time running out to enter the 2017 Life and Light Photo Competition

Amateur photographers looking to win a part of $3,900 in prize money are reminded they only have until 30 June to enter the 2017 Life and Light Photo Competition.

The highly regarded competition, which is in its nineteenth year, has again proven to be popular with a high amount of amazing images showcasing the beauty, diversity and uniqueness of the Western region already entered.

In the final days before the competition closes, Local Landcare Coordinator, Henry Gregory is expecting a spike of photos to be entered and is looking forward to seeing many more wonderful images.

“The standard of photos this year has again been fantastic and it’s great to see some really talented photographers taking part in this competition,” Mr Gregory said.

“We have had a consistent stream of photos entered since the competition was launched and we are hopeful of that continuing right up until 30 June.

“We don’t want people to miss out so if you have photos you want to enter, make sure you head to the Life and Light website and get them uploaded.”

With less than two weeks remaining to get entries in, amateur photographers are reminded the photos don’t have to have been taken since this year’s competition was launched.

Photos taken since 1 January 2015 are eligible to be entered, as long as they were taken within the Western Local Land Services region.

This, and other relevant information, can be found on the Life and Light website, which is also where photos must be submitted for the competition.

The theme for this year’s competition is “healthy landscapes – healthy food” which is linked to the Western Landcare Forum theme.

Entries for the 2017 Life and Light Photo Competition close on Friday, 30 June.

Winners will be announced at the Western Landcare forum dinner in Broken Hill on 4 August 2017.
