Community consultation sessions for weed management plan confirmed for Western region

Seven community consultation sessions have been confirmed as the Western Regional Weed Committee, in partnership with Local Land Services Western Region, calls for feedback on its draft Western Regional Strategic Weed Management Plan.

The sessions, which will be held in Broken Hill, Wilcannia, Buronga, Cobar and Bourke, offer a great opportunity for all interested organisations and individuals to offer feedback on the plan.

Local Land Services Western Region Manager of Biosecurity and Emergency Services, David Creeper encouraged everyone who is able to attend a session.

“We are hoping to get as much feedback and input from community members as possible and these community consultation sessions offer a great opportunity to do this,” Mr Creeper said.
“At each meeting there will be a short presentation on the plan, what it’s all about and what it hopes to achieve, and we will have an informal questions and answers session following that.”

The plan is currently available on the Local Land Services Open website along with other resources such as a factsheet and frequently asked questions.

Submissions can be made online until 8 March.
