"Rocks, Rust, stars and Dust" - capturing the Life and Light of Western NSW in 2016
10 August 2016
Local Land Services – Western Region has launched the 2016 competition with the theme ‘Rocks, Rust, Stars and Dust’ inspired by the incredible western landscape (rocks), the history of the region (rust), our awesome night skies (stars) and the red earth that has come to characterise the west.
“We hope to see photographs capturing moments in time that share a story about life on the land, the people who care for the earth, communities working together against obstacles and setbacks, and the incredible flora and fauna that shapes our landscape,” said Erlina Compton, Local Land Services – Western Region Acting General Manager.
More than $4000 in prize money is on offer with entries open to all amateur photographers, but the photographs must be taken in the Western region, with prizes to be won in six categories:
· Resilient Local Communities
· Productive Local Communities
· Natural Local Environments
· Sustainable Agriculture
· Rocks, Rust, Stars and Dust
· People's Choice
All of the entries for the 2016 competition will be uploaded on the ‘Life and Light in the Western Region’ Facebook page where the entry with the most ‘likes’ will take out the ‘People’s Choice’ Award.
Entries close 30 September 2016.
