Local Land Services Western Region - tell us what you think

Local Land Services Western Region wants to hear from the community about its future direction.

The Draft Western Local Strategic Plan 2015-2020 was released today for public consultation and all members of the community are invited to provide their comments before midnight 22 November 2015.

Local Land Services Western Region works with land managers and the community to add value to local industries, enhance natural resources, protect industries from pests and disease and help communities respond to emergencies like flood, fire and drought.

Chair of the Western Local Board, Tom Hynes, says the Draft Western Local Strategic Plan 2015-2020 sets out the organisation's vision and goals for the next five years and the strategies and actions that will be implemented to achieve it.

"We are keen to hear from any member of the community – whether they are land managers or not – about the strategies and actions we propose to undertake at the property, community, landscape and industry level," he said.

"This is a five year plan, so we need to make sure our ideas align with the needs and expectations of the community."

Local Land Services Western Region is using for the first time an online forum for the public consultation.

Mr Hynes said the online forum makes it very easy for the community to share their ideas.

"To participate in the forum, you simply need to register and then provide responses to the five questions and complete a short survey," he said.

"We will use this information to finalise the plan and help inform the projects and programs we will implement over the next five years."
