Bus trip and workshops at Pooncarie Field Day

Southern district landholders are invited to join a bus trip headed to Pooncarie Field Day on Saturday 2 May and participate in communication and social media workshops.

The workshops are being presented by Catherine Marriott, an advocate for rural Australia and the future of farming.

Regional Landcare Facilitator, Kaye Gottschutzke said the event was a great opportunity to attend the iconic field day and gain some new skills.

"Catherine Marriott has traversed Australia to spread her message about creating change in agriculture through communication between rural producers and urban consumers and will host two workshops at the field day," she said.

"A communication workshop at 10.30 will focus on effective communication skills, how to develop strong consistent key messages and how to deliver them, followed by a second social media workshop at 1pm looking at strategies on how to use social media effectively."

Ms Gottschutzke said the day trip to Pooncarie Field Day cost $30 and included entry to the field day and attendance at either one or both of the workshops.

"People already attending the field day can also participate in one or both of the free workshops, but need to register on the website," she said.

"The bus will pick up at Mildura, Merbein and Wentworth leaving at 8am and return to Mildura at 5.30pm," she said.

Members of the community interested in attending must register online.
