Western Chair, Ben Barlow
Ben is an experienced farmer and grazier from Corowa, with a background in finance and agribusiness.
He is also an experienced board member of government and statutory entities serving as a specialist director for private and high-net-worth organisations. Ben was an inaugural member of the Western Local Land Services Board.
Ben is a specialist agribusiness investor who has corporate finance experience at an executive level. He has held executive roles in banking and finance in Australia and overseas.
He is a practicing agribusiness participant who has a reputation of investing and divesting in land, water and livestock through the agribusiness cycles over 20 years.
Ben left corporate life to concentrate on his farming interests and to assist professional capital to find its way into mainstream family farming businesses. He has a strong network in the business and finance sector which creates an information flow that supports his strategic approach to investment in the agribusiness sector.
Ben and his wife Cate are fourth-generation farmers and dedicated many years to the regeneration of pastoral company Ulonga, near Hay.
He sees a very sound future in agriculture and has been a strong advocate of the agricultural industry over many years.
Ben completed a Bachelor of Economics and holds a Master’s Degree in Business (Agribusiness). He is also a Fellow of the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation.
