Private Native Forestry Code of Practice
The Private Native Forestry Codes of Practice establish a regulatory framework for the sustainable management of forests. They are the key statutory documents guiding private native forestry operations in NSW. The Private Native Forestry Codes:
- contain provisions to maintain and/or improve environment outcomes
- set minimum operating standards for harvesting in private native forests
The Private Native Forestry Codes each apply to an area of NSW:
- Northern NSW
- Southern NSW
- River red gum forests
- Cypress and western hardwood forests
Each Code is accompanied by a field guide to assist operators with its application.
