2014 Total Grazing Pressure Program

Project purpose:  

To increase productivity, native vegetation and soil health by reducing total grazing pressure, particularly of unmanaged goats.

$2.8 million has been committed to 58 land managers to erect a total of 1,005 km of total grazing pressure fencing, install 42 trap yards and undertake grazing management plans.


Land managers now have the ability to:

  • increase productivity and sustainability of 250,000 hectares of rangeland
  • reduce unmanaged goats numbers
  • respond faster to seasonal or vegetation conditions
  • manage vegetation on their property
